Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Please keep your child home with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea or a rash we don't recognize, and bring them back after a full day without symptoms. If your child gets sick here, we call you right away, and your pickup list tells us who else to call.
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher hands each child to you at the room door. Children go home only with the people on your written list, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
Late pickup
If you're held up in a lab, a class or a meeting, call the front desk as soon as you know and a teacher stays with your child. The late-pickup policy is in writing when you enroll.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Lunch and two snacks are served at low tables, and families of infants bring milk or formula. Tell us about any allergy at the tour; once you enroll, we ask again in private.
Naps and safe sleep
Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cots, with nothing else in the cot. Toddlers and older children rest on mats, at the time each one needs.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for the main holidays and for a few staff training days, and we give you the dates in writing when you enroll. If snow or anything else closes us, we text every family early in the morning.
Leaving the program
Please give us a month's notice, in writing or at the front desk. If your plans change mid-year, tell us as early as you can so the next family on the list can plan.
