Questions

Frequently asked questions

What ages do you take?

Children from 6 weeks to 5 years, in five rooms: Infants, Toddlers, Twos, Threes and Fours.

Who can enroll?

Faculty, staff, students and neighbors. When a place opens, we offer it to siblings of enrolled children first, then to faculty and staff, then to students, then to neighbors. Within each group, the family that has waited longest goes first.

How do I join the waitlist?

Apply during the application window, or at any time if a room is full. We keep one list per room. Apply early; infants wait longest.

Can we tour?

Yes. A tour takes about half an hour, and your child is welcome to come along. Book one any week.

What does a day look like?

Arrival and circle time in the morning, play and learning, lunch, rest and outdoor play, then pickup until 5:30 pm. Each room keeps the rhythm at its own pace.

What does the license mean?

Storytime is licensed by LARA / MiLEAP, the Michigan agency for child care. The license number is at the bottom of every page, and we'll show you the license at the tour.

How many adults are in each room?

Each room has its own number of adults to children, set by age. The safety section of this site lists them, and at a tour you can count the adults in the room yourself.

How does tuition work?

It depends on your child's room, the schedule and the days a week. We give you the figures in writing at the tour.

What if my child is ill?

Please keep your child home with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea or a rash we don't recognize. If your child gets sick here, we call you right away.

Do you share photos of children?

Only with your written permission, which you can change at any time.

How do infants sleep and eat?

Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cots, with nothing else in the cot. Families of infants bring milk or formula, and we feed each baby on their own schedule.

Still have a question?

Call the front desk or ask at the tour.
