Safety routines

  • Arrival and pickup

A teacher hands each child to you at the room door. We keep a sign-in sheet and a pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.

  • Sleep

Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cots, with nothing else in the cot. Older children rest on mats at the time each one needs.

  • Allergies

Tell us about any allergy at the tour. Once you enroll, we ask again in private.

  • Clean hands

Every room washes hands on arrival, before meals and after outdoor play.

  • Drills

Each room practices fire and weather drills with the teacher who leads it.

Every room has a lead teacher, and Gillian is at the front door most mornings.

  • Gillian Hewitt, director, in a navy polo shirt seated on a window seat in a quiet reading corner

Gillian has run Storytime since it opened beside the campus. She gives every family the tuition figures in writing at the tour.

  • Meenal Apte, infant and toddler lead, in a soft cardigan beside a shelf of wooden toys

    Meenal Apte

    Infant and toddler lead

Meenal leads the two youngest rooms and writes a note for each family at pickup: feeds, naps and what your baby tried today.

  • Simeon Woodard, Fours teacher, in a canvas apron beside a shelf of toy baskets

    Fours teacher

Simeon teaches the Fours: stories, counting games and the walk to the park on dry days.

  • “The note at pickup tells me what our two-year-old ate, played and slept. Drop-off before an early lab meeting is calm and quick.”

    Hitomi N.
  • “I was nervous about leaving our son so young. The teachers walked us through the room and the sleep routine at the tour and answered everything.”

    Citlalli M.
  • “With our four-year-old we were told to apply early, and we did. We were on the list in January and heard back in March.”
